GRILLED CAESAR SALAD?? BELIEVE IT!!

Grab this related post Widget!
I tried this recipe with great trepidation but it has become a favorite in the Staton household (we had it just last night in fact). Easy & excellent. You'll love it!!

2 servings

1 heart of romaine, sliced lengthwise
1/8 cup of mayonnaise
1/8 cup red wine vinegar
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
dash of Tabasco
1/4 cup vegetable oil
salt and fresh ground pepper
shaved Parmesan cheese

Light a grill. In a mini food processor blend all the ingredients except the oil. Then gradually add oil until the dressing is creamy.

Brush the hearts of romaine with oil and place on grill, flat side down. Turn once or twice until lightly charred but still crisp--about 3 minutes.

Spread half the dressing across salad plates. Arrange the grilled hearts of romaine on top and drizzle with the remaining dressing. Garnish with cheese shavings.

Looks great.

I have some unrelated food questions that I need your insight on. Maybe it can be your next entry.

Brandon and I just got back from Mikky. We had the first annual (or daily) $6 challenge. I went with a 4-pc nugget happy meal (with choc. milk), double cheeseburger, hamburger, and chocolate sundae. Brandon went with the McRib meal and 2 dbl cheeseburgers. I think I won the first challenge, but I want your input.

Second - the hamburger I got was 99 cents. A double cheeseburger is $1. Does this mean that a standard cheeseburger would be $1.09? How does this make any sense.

Enjoying the blog so far.

We love that salad! I wasn't so sure about the grilling either, but it was yummy. Hmm, maybe the salad will show up on our menu next week.

Are Hunter and Brandon having some sort of eating contest? Sounds straight out of the high school days!

TLD, I guess I don't exactly understand the parameters of the contest. Is it to see who can devise the most creative order totalling $6, the most unhealthy, the most bizarre, or what? Let me know and I'll be happy to critique y'all's choices.
